Tests before Surgery

To ensure your surgery is planned safely and smoothly, patients are advised to complete the required medical investigations before visiting the clinic. Please get these tests done at a nearby pathology laboratory and bring all reports during your consultation or surgery visit.

This helps our surgical team review your reports early and plan the procedure immediately after clinical examination. In some cases, if the doctor recommends additional investigations after checkup, those tests can also be performed at our adjacent diagnostic laboratory.

Why Are Pre-Surgery Tests Important?

Pre-operative tests help the doctor evaluate your overall health condition before surgery. These reports help identify conditions like infection, anemia, diabetes, blood clotting problems, kidney issues, or heart-related risks that may affect surgery or recovery.

Mandatory Tests Before Surgery

The following reports are commonly required before surgery:

• Hemogram with ESR
• HbA1C
• Serum Creatinine
• Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination
• PT / INR
• HIV, HBsAg, HCV
• Chest X-Ray (PA View)
  (Recommended for children between 0–15 years if cough is present)
• ECG
  (Recommended for hypertensive patients)
• Pediatrician Medical Fitness Certificate
  (For children aged 0–18 years)

Additional Tests in Special Cases

Depending on your medical history, age, existing health conditions, or doctor’s recommendation, some patients may require additional investigations before surgery.

These may include:

• 2D Echo with Cardiac Color Doppler
  (Recommended for patients with hypertension or ischemic heart disease)
• Physician Medical Fitness Certificate for Surgery under Local or General Anesthesia

Important Instructions for Patients

• Carry original reports during your clinic visit
• Reports should preferably be recent
• Inform the doctor about any ongoing medications
• Patients with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or heart disease should mention their condition during consultation
• If you have fever, cough, infection, or recent illness, inform the clinic before surgery
